उन्होंने कहा, ' क्या तू हमारे पास इसलिए आया है कि हमें उस चीज़ से फेर दे जिसपर हमने अपना बाप-दादा का पाया है और धरती में तुम दोनों की बड़ाई स्थापित हो जाए? हम तो तुम्हें माननेवाले नहीं। '
They said,' Art thou come to us to turn us from that we found our fathers practising, and that the domination in the land might belong to you two? We do not believe you.
वहाँ वे सदैव रहेंगे, जब तक आकाश और धरती स्थिर रहें, बात यह है कि तुम्हारे रब की इच्छा ही चलेगी। तुम्हारा रब जो चाहे करे
They shall abide in it as long as the heavens and the earth endure, unless your Lord may will otherwise. Surely your Lord does whatsoever He wills.
वहाँ वे सदैव रहेंगे, जब तक आकाश और धरती स्थिर रहें, बात यह है कि तुम्हारे रब की इच्छा ही चलेगी। तुम्हारा रब जो चाहे करे
They shall remain in it for as long as the heavens and the earth endure — except what your Lord may wish; indeed your Lord does whatever He desires.
'यह इसलिए कि तुम धरती में नाहक़ मग्न थे और इसलिए कि तुम इतराते रहे हो
They will be told, 'This (torment) is the result of your unreasonable happiness on the earth and of your propagation of falsehood.
वहाँ वे सदैव रहेंगे, जब तक आकाश और धरती स्थिर रहें, बात यह है कि तुम्हारे रब की इच्छा ही चलेगी। तुम्हारा रब जो चाहे करे
They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Verily, your Lord is the doer of what He wills.

और अल्लाह से हटकर उन्हें पूजते है, जिन्हें आकाशों और धरती से रोज़ी प्रदान करने का कुछ भी अधिकार प्राप्त नहीं है और न उन्हें कोई सामर्थ्य ही प्राप्त है

आख़िरत का घर हम उन लोगों के लिए ख़ास कर देंगे जो न धरती में अपनी बड़ाई चाहते है और न बिगाड़। परिणाम तो अन्ततः डर रखनेवालों के पक्ष में है
This abode of the Hereafter – We make it for those who do not wish greatness in the land nor turmoil; and the Hereafter is only for the pious.
इस बारे में तिरमिज़ी ‎में हज़रत ज़ैद बिन अरक़म (रज़ि.) द्वारा वर्णित हदीस है जिसमें कहा गया ‎है कि कुरान अल्लाह की रस्सी है जो धरती से आकाश तक तनी है।
This has been describe in Tirmiz by Hajrat Zaid Bin Arkam (razi.), in which it says that Quran is like rope which is from earth to the sky.
उनका यह कथन किसी समाजवादी की तरह उत्साह में नहीं कहा गया लेकिन अपने हृदय के गहन अनुरोध के अनुरूप कहा गया. ऐसा लगता है जैसे स्वर्ग में मिलने वाली मनचाही वस्तु उन्हें इसी धरती पर धूल में पड़ी मिल गई हो।
