जब वे लोग जिनके पीछे वे चलते थे यातना को देखकर अपने अनुयायियों से विरक्त हो जाएँगे और उनके सम्बन्ध और सम्पर्क टूट जाएँगे

तो जिन लोगों ने इनकार की नीति अपनाई उन्हें दुनिया और आख़िरत में कड़ी यातना दूँगा उनका कोई सहायक न होगा
And let not those who disbelieve ever think that because We extend their time of enjoyment it is better for them We only extend it for them so that they may increase in sin and for them is a humiliating punishment
और यह ढ़ील जो हम उन्हें दिए जाते है इसे अधर्मी लोग अपने लिए अच्छा न समझे यह ढील तो हम उन्हें सिर्फ़ इसलिए दे रहे है कि वे गुनाहों में और अधिक बढ़ जाएँ और उनके लिए तो अत्यन्त अपमानजनक यातना है
And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not do never think them to be in safety from the punishment and for them is a painful punishment
तुम उन्हें कदापि यह न समझना जो अपने किए पर ख़ुश हो रहे है और जो काम उन्होंने नहीं किए चाहते है कि उनपर भी उनकी प्रशंसा की जाए तो तुम उन्हें यह न समझाना कि वे यातना से बच जाएँगे उनके लिए तो दुखद यातना है

कितनी ही बस्तियाँ थीं जिन्हें हमने विनष्टम कर दिया उनपर हमारी यातना रात को सोते समय आ पहुँची या दिन दहाड़ आई जबकि वे दोपहर में विश्राम कर रहे थे
