उपराष्ट्रपति महोदय ने कहा कि यह बहुत निराशाजनक बात है कि केंद्र एवं राज्यों में विभिन्न सरकारों द्वारा प्रयास किए जाने के बावजूद भारत में अस्वीकार्य स्तर पर कुपोषण की समस्या बनी हुई है।
He further said that it is quite distressing that in spite of the efforts taken by successive governments at the Centre and in various States, the problem of malnutrition persists in India at unacceptable levels.
मंत्री महोदय ने कहा कि अंतर्देशीय नौवहन, ऊर्जा, कुशल और पर्यावरण अनुकूल परिवहन का माध्यम है। सरकार यात्री और माल ढुलाई के लिए इन जलमार्गों का उपयोग करना चाहती है।
The Minister said that the Inland Water Transport being a fuel efficient and environment friendly mode of transport, the intent of the Government is to develop shipping and navigation on viable NWs for movement of cargo and passenger vessels.
मंत्री महोदय ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि भविष्य र्में राज्य का आर्थिक विकास राज्य के तटवर्ती क्षेत्रो का राज्य तथा देश के मुख्य हिस्सों से जुड़ने पर निर्भर करेगा।
The Minister further explained that the future economic growth of Maharashtra depends on connectivity of its coastal areas with the rest of the state and the country.
मंत्री महोदय ने आगे बताया कि राज्य की सड़कों को, जिनकी कुल लंबाई 51,940 कि.मी. है, राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों के रूप में घोषित किए जाने की सैद्धांतिक रूप से मंजूरी दी जा चुकी है।
The Minister further informed that about 51,940 km length of State Roads have been approved In-Principle for their declaration as new NHs subject to outcome of their Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and initiatives have been taken for their DPR preparations.
मंत्री महोदय ने विशेष जोर देते हुए कहा कि भारत के फुटवियर उद्योग को घरेलू बाजार से परे भी संभावनाएं ढूंढ़नी होंगी क्योंकि भारत में एक वैश्विक फुटवियर उत्पादन हब बनने की क्षमता है।
The Minister emphasized that the Indian footwear industry has to look beyond the domestic market as India has potential to become a global footwear manufacturing hub.

The Minister called for joint efforts by the Government of India and corporate houses by pulling all resources: financial, managerial, policy framework and local resources, to address the critical challenges in sectors of water, education and health care.
मंत्री महोदय ने इस अवसर पर शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य सेवा, कौशल विकास, महिला सशक्तिकरण और आजीविका जैसी विभिन्न श्रेणियों के तहत घोषित विजेताओं को सीएसआर पुरस्कार प्रदान किए।

The Minister sought that the probe should ascertain whether the incident is related to discrimination against the North-East people.
मंत्री महोदय ने बताया कि सीएएफ नियमों को अंतिम रूप से 10 अगस्त, 2018 को प्रकाशित किया गया जिससे राज्यों को लगभग 52,000 करोड़ रुपये के बराबर की निधियों के सुगम हस्तांतरण का रास्ता प्रशस्त हो गया।
The Minister also pointed out that the CAF Rules were finally published on August 10, 2018, paving the way for smooth transfer of funds worth about Rs. 52, 000 crore to the States.
