प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केन्द्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने चमड़ा एवं फुटवियर क्षेत्र में रोजगार सृजन के लिए विशेष पैकेज को मंजूरी दे दी है।
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the special package for employment generation in leather and footwear sector.
इस उप-योजना के तहत 425 करोड़ रुपये के प्रस्तावित परिव्यय के साथ 3 वर्षों के दौरान चमड़ा, फुटवियर एवं सहायक सामान और कलपुर्जा क्षेत्र की 1000 इकाइयों को प्रोत्साहन देने का प्रस्ताव है।
The proposal under this sub-scheme is to incentivize 1000 units in Leather, Footwear and Accessories & Components sector during the three years with proposed outlay of Rs.425 crore.
इस उप-योजना के तहत राष्ट्रीय स्तर की क्षेत्रवार उद्योग परिषद/संघ को सहायता देने के साथ-साथ चमड़ा, फुटवियर एवं सहायक सामान क्षेत्र के लिए विजन दस्तावेज तैयार करने हेतु भी मदद दी जाएगी।
The sub-scheme will also provide support to national level sectoral industry council/ association and support for preparation of vision document for Leather Footwear and Accessories Sector.
6. चमड़ा, फुटवियर एवं सहायक सामान क्षेत्र में भारतीय ब्रांडों को प्रोत्साहन देने की उप-योजना : इस उप-योजना के तहत ब्रांड के संवर्धन के लिए स्वीकृत पात्र इकाइयों को सहायता देने का प्रस्ताव है।
6. Promotion of Indian Brands in Leather, Footwear and Accessories Sector sub-scheme: Under this sub-scheme, the eligible units approved for Brand Promotion are proposed to be assisted.
4. मेगा चमड़ा, फुटवियर एवं सहायक सामान क्लस्टर (एमएलएफएसी) उप-योजना : एमएलएफएसी उप-योजना का उद्देश्य मेगा चमड़ा, फुटवियर एवं सहायक सामान क्लस्टर की स्थापना करके चमड़ा, फुटवियर एवं सहायक सामान क्षेत्र को बुनियादी ढांचागत सहायता प्रदान करना है।
4. Mega Leather, Footwear and Accessories Cluster (MLFAC) sub-scheme: The MLFAC sub-scheme aims at providing infrastructure support to the Leather, Footwear and Accessories Sector by establishment of Mega Leather, Footwear and Accessories Cluster.

धारा 80-जेजेएए के तहत नए कर्मचारियों को अदा किए जाने वाले कुल वेतन पर 30 प्रतिशत कटौती में ढील देकर इसे फुटवियर एवं चमड़ा उद्योग के लिए 150 दिन किया जाएगा, ताकि ज्यादा रोजगार सृजित हो सके।

देश में और ज्यादा रोजगारों के सृजन को बढ़ावा देने के साथ-साथ विभिन्न क्षेत्रों जैसे कि खाद्य प्रसंस्करण, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स, वाहनों के कलपुर्जों, फुटवियर और फर्नीचर में मेक इन इंडिया तथा घरेलू मूल्य वर्द्धन को भी प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए सीमा शुल्क में फेरबदल करने का प्रस्ताव।

वहीं, आज यहां संसद में पेश किए गए आम बजट 2018-19 में श्री जेटली ने यह स्वीकार किया कि कुछ विशेष क्षेत्रों जैसे कि खाद्य प्रसंस्करण, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स, ऑटो कलपुर्जों, फुटवियर और फर्नीचर में घरेलू मूल्य वर्द्धन की व्यापक गुंजाइश है।
In the General Budget 2018-19 presented in Parliament here today, Shri Jaitley acknowledged there is substantial potential for domestic value addition in certain sectors, like food processing, electronics, auto components, footwear and furniture.
वित्त मंत्री ने आशा व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि फुटवियर और चमड़ा उद्योग को भी न्यूनतम 150 दिनों की छूट मिलने से इस क्षेत्र में नए रोजगार सृजन को प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा।
Extending this relaxation of minimum period of 150 days to footwear and leather industry also, the Finance Minister hoped this would encourage creation of new employment in this sector.
