रिपोर्ट की विशेषताएं इस प्रकार हैं:- रिपोर्ट में महिला बंदियों की अनेक समस्याओं को कवर किया गया है और इसमें बुजुर्गों तथा दिव्यांग लोगों की आवश्यकताओं को शामिल किया गया है।
The report not only considers the needs of pregnant women, but also those who have recently given birth but whose children are not with them in prison, those who have miscarried, or those who have recently undergone abortion.
रिपोर्ट में न केवल गर्भवती महिलाओं की आवश्यकताओं पर बल दिया गया है बल्कि उन महिलाओं पर भी विचार किया गया है जिन्होंने हाल में बच्चे को जन्म दिया गया है लेकिन उनके बच्चे जेल में उनके साथ नहीं हैं।
Considering the needs of women in their post-natal stages, the report recommends a separate accommodation for mothers in post-natal stage to maintain hygiene and protect the infant from contagion, for at least a year after childbirth.
प्रसव पश्चात के चरणों में महिलाओं की आवश्यकताओं पर विचार करते हुए रिपोर्ट में माताओं के लिए बच्चा जन्म देने के बाद पृथक आवासीय व्यवस्था की सिफारिश की गई है, ताकि साफ-सफाई का ध्यान रखा जा सके और नवजात शिशु को संक्रमण से बचाया जा सके।
To make legal aid more effective, the report suggests that legal consultations must be conducted in confidentiality and without censorship.
कानूनी सहायता को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने के लिए रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि कानूनी विचार-विमर्श गोपनीयता के साथ और बिना सेंसर के किया जाना चाहिए।
The report also recommends that prison authorities should coordinate with local police to ensure released prisoners are not harassed by them due to the attached stigma.
