ਲੀੜੇ ਜਾ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਧਾਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੀੜੇ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਿਆਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਲਗਭਗ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਾਨਵੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਹੈ। ਲੀੜੇ ਦੀ ਕਿਸਮ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਆਕਾਰ, ਲਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਭੂਗੋਲਿਕ ਲਿਹਾਜ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੇਵਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਭਿਅਕ ਲੀੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਢਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਕਪੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੋ ਨਿੱਬੜਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਤਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਚਮੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਕੱਜਿਆ। ਜਿਵੇਂ-ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੇ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ-ਖੱਡੀ ਦੇ ਖੱਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿਲਕ ਤਕ ਲੰਮਾ ਫ਼ਾਸਲਾ ਤੈਅ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਸਿਰਜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਸਲੀਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਯੋਗਤਾ, ਗੁਣ, ਡੂੰਘਾਈ, ਪ੍ਰੋਢਤਾ ਤੇ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਦਾ ਚਿਰ ਸਥਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖ ਸਕਦਾ।
