A dilemma is a problem offering two possibilities, neither of which is unambiguously acceptable or preferable. The possibilities are termed the horns of the dilemma, a clichéd usage, but distinguishing the dilemma from other kinds of predicament as a matter of usage.

द्विविधा (dilemma) तर्कशास्त्र में ऐसी दुविधा को कहते हैं जिसमें दो सम्भावित विकल्प हों, जिनमें से सरल रूप से कोई भी श्रेष्ठतर न हो। यानि ऐसी स्थिति जिसमें व्यक्ति असमंजस में पड़ जाये कि दोनो चारों या उत्तरों में से किसे चुना जाये। साधारण बोलचाल में द्विविधा को कई मुहावरों व लोकोक्तियों में कहा जाता है। मसलन अगर दो बुरे विकल्पों में से एक चुनना हो तो हिन्दी में कहा जाता है कि "सामने अंधा कुआँ, पीछे गहरी खाई"।
