ਛਾਇਆ' ਜਾਂ ਛਾਯਾ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੂਰਤ ਜਾਂ ਪਰਛਾਵੇਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਸੂਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰਨਿਆ (ਸੰਗਿਆ) ਦੀ ਸ਼ੈਡੋ-ਚਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਬਿੰਬ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੂਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ। ਛਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਸੰਜਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਛਾਵੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਛਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸ਼ਨੀ, ਡਰ ਦਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ; ਤਾਪਤੀ ਨਦੀ ਦੀ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਤਾਪਤੀ; ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਾਵਣੀ ਮਨੂ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਣਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Chhaya or Chaya is the Hindu personification and goddess of shadow, also called Sandhya and a consort of Surya, the Hindu sun god. She is the shadow-image or reflection of Saranyu (Sanjna), the first wife of Surya. Chhaya was born from the shadow of Sanjna and replaced Sanjna in her house, after the latter temporarily left her husband.
