ಇದು ದೇವನಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿ ಹಣ್ಣು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪೂರ್ವ ಏಷಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ದೊಡ್ದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಬಾಚಣೆಗೆಯಂತಹ ದೊಡ್ದ ತೊಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಒಗರು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಹಿಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಹುಳಿಯ ರುಚಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಇದನ್ನು ಆಸ್ವಾದಿಸುವವರು ಕೆಲವರು ಮಾತ್ರ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಇದು ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಸಾಲಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಹಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ 'ಎ' 'ಬಿ' ಮತ್ತು 'ಸಿ' ಜೀವಸತ್ವಗಳು ಹೇರಳವಾಗಿವೆ.ಈ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಹೊರಸಿಪ್ಪೆ ತೆಗೆದು ತೊಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.

The pomelo, from the family Rutaceae, is the largest citrus fruit, and the principal ancestor of the grapefruit. It is a natural, non-hybrid, citrus fruit, native to Southeast Asia. Similar in taste to a sweet grapefruit, the pomelo is commonly consumed and used for festive occasions throughout Southeast Asia and East Asia.
