टाँग NOUN

1. शरीर का वह निचला भाग जिसपर धड़ ठहरा रहता है और जिससे प्राणी चलते या दौड़ते हैं । साधारणत? जाँघ की जड़ से लेकर एड़ी तक का अंग जो पतले खंभे या डंडे के रूप में होता है, विशेषत? घुटने से लेकर एड़ी तक का अंग । जीवों के चलने फिरने का अवयव । (जिसकी संख्या भिन्न भिन्न प्रकार के जीवों में भिन्न भिन्न होती है) ।
2. कुश्ती का एक पेंच जिसमें विपक्षी की टाँग में टाँग मारकर या अड़ाकर उसे चित्त कर देते हैं । विशेष—यह कई पर्करा का होता है । जैसे,—(क) पिछली टाँग = जब विपक्षी पीछे या पीठ की ओर हो तब पीछे से उसके घुटने के पास टाँग मारने को पिछली टाँग कहते हैं । (ख) बाहरी टाँग = जब दोनों पहलवान आमने सामने छाती से छाती मिलाकर भिड़े हों तब विपक्षी के घुटने के पिछले भाग में जोर से टाँग मारने को बाहरो टाँग कहते हैं । (ग) बगली टाँग = विपक्षी को बगल में पाकर बगल से उसके पैर में टाँग मारने को बगली टाँग कहते हैं । (घ) भीतरी टाँग = जब विपक्षी पीठ पर हो, तब मौका पाकर भीतर ही से उसके पैर में पैर फँसाकर झटका देने को भीतरी टाँग कहते हैं । (च) अड़ानी टाँग = विपक्षी को दोनों टाँगों के बीच में टाँग फँसाकर मारने अड़ानी टाँग कहते हैं ।
3. चतुर्थांश । चौथाई भाग । चहारुम । —(दलाल) ।

मानव शरीर का निचला लिंब टाँग होता है। इसके प्रमुख अंग हैं: पैर, जंघा, घुटना, नितम्ब एवं अंगुलियाँ।टांगों का उपयोग खड़े होने के लिए किया जाता है, और नृत्य जैसे मनोरंजन सहित सभी प्रकार के गतिविधि, और एक व्यक्ति के द्रव्यमान का एक महत्वपूर्ण भाग बनाते हैं।
