- दरी बुनने के करघे की वह बडी़ लकडी़ या शहतीर जिसमें बै का बाँस लगा रहता है । इसे झिल्लन भी करते हैं ।
- हेंगे या पोटे की वह रस्सी जिसका एक सिरा हेंगे में और दूसरा बैलों की गरदन के पास जूए के बीच में बँधा रहता है ।
- वह दाना, मक्का या गाँठ जो किसी प्रकार की माला या लडी़ का एक अंश हो । जैसे— माला की गुरिया,रीढ़ की गुरिया, साँप की गुरिया आदि ।
- चौकौर या गोल छोटा टुकडा़ जो काटकर अलग किया गया हो । कटा हुआ छोटा खंड ।
- मांस का छोटा टुकडा़ । बोटी ।
Description
गुरिया या मनका (bead) ऐसे बंधे हुए दानों को कहते हैं जिन्हें पिरोकर माला बनाई जाती है या जिनसे बनी झालरें सजावट के लिए वस्त्रों में लगाई जाती हैं। 'गुरिया' शब्द का मूल संस्कृत का 'गुटिका' शब्द है और 'मनका' का मूल संस्कृत ही का 'मणिका' शब्द है।
A bead is a small, decorative object that is formed in a variety of shapes and sizes of a material such as stone, bone, shell, glass, plastic, wood, or pearl and with a small hole for threading or stringing. Beads range in size from under 1 millimeter (0.039 in) to over 1 centimeter (0.39 in) in diameter.
