Description

હવાડો એટલે પશુઓ ને પાણી પિવા માટે ની એક જગ્યા. સામાન્ય રીતે કુવાની બાજુમાં હવાડો બાંધવામાં આવે છે, જે બે-ત્રણ ફૂટ પહોળો અને ચારથી આઠ ફૂટ જેટલી લંબાઇનો તેમ જ એકથી દોઢ ફૂટ ઉંચાઇનો હોય છે. એમાં પાણી ભરી રાખવાથી ગામનાં બધાં પશુઓ એમાંથી પાણી પી શકે છે. પશુપાલન બાબતે અગ્રેસર રહેતા ગુજરાત રાજ્યનાં ઘણાં ગામોમાં હવાડો જોવા મળે છે. અહીંના ગ્રામ્યજીવન સાથે સંકળાયેલા હવાડાને કારણે "કુવામાં હોય તો હવાડામાં આવે" એવી કહેવત પણ સર્જન પામી છે.
