सरपंच ग्राम पंचायत का मुख्य होता है। सरपंच भारत में स्थानीय स्वशासन के लिए गांव स्तर पर विधिक संस्था ग्राम पंचायत का प्रधान होता है।पाकिस्तान एवं बांग्लादेश के गॉवों में भी यह प्रसाशन प्रणाली पायी जाती है। सरपंच चुने गए पंचों की मदद से ग्राम पंचायत के महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर निर्णय लेता है।सरपंच का कार्यकाल 5 वर्ष का होता है। सरपंच का चुनाव गॉंवासियों द्वारा की जाता है। केरल जैसे दक्षिण भारतीय राज्यों में, पंचायत प्रमुख को पंचायत अध्यक्ष (President) के रूप में जाना जाता है।.
