यांत्रिकी के सन्दर्भ में, दो या अधिक वस्तुओं के टकराने को संघट्ट (impact) कहते हैं। संघट्ट की क्रिया में वस्तुएँ एक-दूसरे पर बहुत कम समय के लिए बहुत अधिक बल लगातीं है। इस तरह का अल्प समय के लिए लगने वाले बल या उससे उत्पन्न त्वरण का प्रभाव अधिक समय तक लगने वाले अल्प बल से कहीं अधिक होता है। यह प्रभाव, संघट्ट से ठीक पहले वस्तुओं के आपेक्षिक वेग पर निर्भर करता है।

In mechanics, an impact is when two bodies collide. During this collision, both bodies decelerate. The deceleration causes a high force or shock, applied over a short time period. A high force, over a short duration, usually causes more damage to both bodies than a lower force applied over a proportionally longer duration.
