गोंद पौधा का एक उत्सर्जी पदार्थ है जो कोशिका भित्ति के सेलूलोज के अपघटन के फलस्वरूप बनता है। सूखी अवस्था में यह रवा के रूप में पाया जाता है, किन्तु पानी में डालने पर यह फूलकर चिपचिपा बन जाता है। इसका उपयोग कागज आदि विभिन्न पदार्थों को चिपकाने में होता है तथा यह हमारी सेहत के लिए भी खूब लाभदायक होता है। अकेशिया सेनीगल से हमें सबसे अच्छा गोंद मिलता है। बबूल, आम और नीम आदि पौधों से भी गोंद निकलता है इसका उपयोग दवा बनाने एवं विभिन्न उद्योग धंधों में होता है।
