उल्लू एक ऐसा पक्षी है जिसे दिन कि अपेक्षा रात में अधिक स्पष्ट दिखाई देता है। ये अपनी गर्दन पूरी घुमा सकता है । इसके कान बेहद संवेदनशील होते हैं। रात में जब इसका कोई शिकार (जानवर) थोड़ी सी भी हरकत करता है तो इसे पता चल जाता है और यह उसे दबोच लेता है इसके पैरों में टेढ़े नाखूनों-वाली चार-चार अंगुलियां होती हैं जिससे इसे शिकार को दबोचने में विशेष सुविधा मिलती हैl चूहे इसका विशेष भोजन हैंl उल्लू लगभग संसार के सभी भागों में पाया जाता हैl
