वेलिंग्टन न्यूज़ीलैंड की राजधानी है। वेलिंगटन को इस देश का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा नगरीय क्षेत्र माना जाता है। लगभग १८ लाख की जनसंख्या वाले इस नगर की स्‍थापना १८३९ ईसवी में हुई थी और १८६५ ईसवी में इसे यहां का राजधानी घोषित किया गया। पर्यटन की दृष्टि से यहां वेलिंगटन म्‍यूजियम, सिटी गैलरी, फैंक किटस पार्क, माउन्‍ट विक्‍टोरिया, माउन्‍ट कोकोउ, मैसी मे‍मोरियल, कारोरी वाइल्‍डलाइफ सैंचुरी, लीमर्स आर्क, पार्लियामेंट बिल्‍डिंग, नेशनल लाईब्रेरी, टर्नबुल हाउस, सेन्‍ट्रल लाईब्रेरी, बोटेनिक गार्डेन जैसे जगहों को घूमा जा सकता है। वेलिगंटन को पृथ्वी की अंतिम दक्षिणतम राजधानी कहते हैं।
