Mercantilism is a nationalist economic policy that is designed to maximize the imports and minimize the exports for an economy. In other words, it seeks to maximize the accumulation of resources within the country and use those resources for one-sided trade.

वाणिज्यवाद (Mercantilism) १६वीं से १८वीं सदी में यूरोप में प्रचलित एक आर्थिक सिद्धान्त तथा व्यवहार का नाम है जिसके अन्तर्गत राज्य की शक्ति बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से राष्ट्र की अर्थव्यवस्थाओं का सरकारों द्वारा नियंत्रण को प्रोत्साहन मिला।
