Ballistics is the field of mechanics concerned with the launching, flight behaviour and impact effects of projectiles, especially ranged weapon munitions such as bullets, unguided bombs, rockets or the like; the science or art of designing and accelerating projectiles so as to achieve a desired performance.

क्षेपण विज्ञान या प्राक्षेपिकी यांत्रिकी की एक शाखा है जिसके अन्तर्गत प्रक्षेपकों (projectiles) की गति, व्यवहार एवं उनके प्रभावों का अध्ययन किया जाता है। प्रक्षेपकों में भी मुख्यतः गोलियों, गुरुत्व बमों, रॉकेट आदि का बारे में अध्ययन किया जाता है। इस अध्ययन से प्रक्षेपकों की डिजाइन एवं उनको त्वरित करने की युक्तियों की डिजाइन में मदद मिलती है ताकि वे अभीष्ट परफार्मेंस प्राप्त कर सकें।
