ਮੀਂਹ ਬੂੰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਤਰਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਘਣੇ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਨਾਲ਼ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਭਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਚੱਕਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮੁੱਖ ਅੰਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਾਜ਼ੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ੁੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਲਗਪਗ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਾਲ ਹੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਮੀਂਹ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਅਗਸਤ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੀਂਹ ਮਾਨਸੂਨ ਪੌਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
