പ്രിയദർശന്റെ സംവിധാനത്തിൽ പി.കെ.ആർ. പിള്ള നിർമ്മിച്ച് 1989-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ മലയാളചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് വന്ദനം. മോഹൻലാൽ നായകനായ ഈ ചിത്രത്തിൽ ഗിരിജ ഷെട്ടാർ ആയിരുന്നു നായിക. ഔസേപ്പച്ചൻ സംഗീതസംവിധാനം നിർവഹിച്ച ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലെ അഞ്ചു ഗാനങ്ങളും സൂപ്പർ ഹിറ്റുകളായിരുന്നു. ഈ സിനിമയുടെ ഭൂരിഭാഗം ഭാഗങ്ങളും ബാംഗ്ലൂരിൽ വച്ചാണ് ചിത്രീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്.1987-ലെ അമേരിക്കൻ ചലച്ചിത്രമായ സ്റ്റേക്ക്ഔട്ടിനെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയാണ് ഈ ചിത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. പ്രിയദർശൻ ഈ ചിത്രം അമല, നാഗാർജുന എന്നിവരെ നായികാനായകന്മാരാക്കി തെലുങ്കിലേക്ക് നിർണ്ണയം (1991) എന്ന പേരിൽ പുനർനിർമ്മിച്ചു, സുകുമാരി വീണ്ടും അഭിനയിച്ചു. ഈ സിനിമയിലെ ഒരു കോമഡി സീക്വൻസ് പ്രിയദർശൻ 2021-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഹിന്ദി ചിത്രമായ ഹംഗാമ 2-ൽ വീണ്ടും ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.

The film stars Mohanlal and Girija Shettar, while Mukesh and Nedumudi Venu appear in supporting roles. The songs were composed by Ouseppachan, while the background score was by Johnson.
