जिमीकंद एक बहुवर्षीय भूमिगत Archived 2021-04-29 at the वेबैक मशीन सब्जी है जिसका वर्णन भारतीय धर्मग्रंथों में भी पाया जाता है। भारत के विभिन्न राज्यों में जिमीकंद के भिन्न-भिन्न नाम ओल या सूरन हैं। पहले इसे गृहवाटिका में या घरों के अगल-बगल की जमीन में ही उगाया जाता था। परन्तु अब तो जिमीकंद की व्यवसायिक खेती होने लगी है। जिमीकंद एक सब्जी ही नहीं वरन यह एक बहुमूल्य जड़ीबूटी है जो सभी को स्वस्थ एवं निरोग रखने में मदद करता है।
