Description
जरीब लम्बाई नापने की एक इकाई है, साथ ही जिस जंजीर से यह दूरी नापी जाती है उसे भी जरीब कहते हैं। एक जरीब की मानक लम्बाई 66 फीट अथवा 22 गज अथवा 4 लट्ठे (Rods) होती है। जरीब में कुल 100 कड़ियाँ होती हैं, इस प्रकार प्रत्येक कड़ी की लम्बाई 0.6 फ़ुट या 7.92 इंच होती है।

By extension, chainage is the distance along a curved or straight survey line from a fixed commencing point, as given by an odometer.
