खाँसी NOUN

गले और श्वास की नलियों में फँसे या जमे हुए कफ अथवा अन्य पदार्थ को बाहर फेकने के लिये झटके के साथ हवा निकालने की क्रिया । काश । विशेष— यह क्रिया कुछ तों स्वाभाविक और कुछ प्रयत्न करने पर होती है जिसमें कुछ शब्द भी होता है । ड़ाक्टरी मत से यह कलेजे और फेफड़े से संबंध रखनेवाला अनेक साधारण रोगों का चिह्नन मात्र है ।
वैद्यक के अनुसार एक स्वतत्र रोग । विशेष— यह रोग श्वास की नलियों में धुआँ और धूल लगने, रूखा अन्न खाने, भोज्य पदार्थ के श्वास की नलियों में चले जाने या स्निग्ध पदार्थ खाकर ऊपर से जल पीने से उत्पन्न होता है । इसमें उदानवायु की अनुगत होकर प्राणबायु दूषित हो जाती है और बायु के जोर से खौं खों शब्द के साथ कफ निकलता है । खाँसी होने पर गले में सुरसुराहबट होती है भोजन गले मे कुछ कुछ रुकता है । आवाज बिगड़ जाती हैं और आग्निमंदता तथा अरुचि हो जाती है । इसके बढ़ जाने से राजयक्षमा और उर; क्षत आदि भयंकर रोग उत्पन्न होते है । उत्पत्तिभेद से यह पाँच प्रकार की मानी गई है । यथा— वातज, पित्तज, कफज, क्षयज और क्षतज । जिस खाँसी के साथ मुँह से कफ निकले, उसे तर, और जिसके साथ कुछ भी न निकले, उसे सूखी खाँसी कहते हैं ।

खांसी, जिसे तुसिस भी कहा जाता है, एक ऐसी क्रिया है जो शरीर फेफड़ों या गले में जलन पैदा करने वाली किसी भी चीज से छुटकारा पाने के लिए करता है। ऐसा करने के लिए, वक्ष गुहा की मांसपेशियां फेफड़ों से हवा को बहुत अधिक बल के साथ बाहर निकालने के लिए सिकुड़ती हैं। खांसी अक्सर जल्दी और एक से अधिक बार होती है, और आमतौर पर एक अनोखी ध्वनि के साथ होती है, जिसे खांसी भी कहा जाता है।
