  1. एक बिंदु पर मिलती या कटती हुई दो ऐसी रेखाओं के बीच का अंतर, जो मिलकर एक न हो जाती हों । कोना । गोशा । विशेष—जिन दो रेखाओं से कोण बनता है उनकी लंबाई के घटने बढ़ने से कोण के मान में कुछ अंतर नहीं पड़ता । कोण का मान निकालने का ढंग यह है कि जिस बिंदु पर दोनों रेखाएँ मिलती हैं उसे केंद्र मानकर दोनों रेखाओं को काटता हुआ एक वृत्त बनावे । फिर उसकी परिधि को ३६० अंशों में विभक्त करे । जितने अंश कोण बनानेवाली रेखाओं के बीच में पड़ेगे, उतने अंशों का वह कोण कहा जायगा । रेखागणित में कोण कोई प्रकार के होते हैं, जैसे—समकोण (९० अंश का) न्यूकोण (९० अंश से कम का), इत्यादि ।
  2. दो दिशाओं के बीच की दिशा । विदिशा । विशेष—कोण चार हैं—अग्निकोण (पूर्व और दक्षिण के बीच का कोण), नैऋति (पश्मि और दक्षिण का), ईशान (पूर्व और उत्तर का) तथा वायव्य (उत्तर और पश्मि का) ।
