The tree originated in Central Asia, where its wild ancestor, Malus sieversii, is still found. Apples have been grown for thousands of years in Eurasia and were introduced to North America by European colonists. एतत् सेवफलं भारते अपि वर्धमानः कश्चन फलविशेषः । एतत् सेवफलम् अपि सस्यजन्यः आहारपदार्थः । इदं सेवफलम् आङ्ग्लभाषायां Apple इति उच्यते । एतत् सेवफलम् अकृष्टपच्यम् अपि । सेवफलं देवानां नैवेद्यार्थम् अपि उपयुज्यते । एतत् सेवफलम् अपि बहुविधं भवति ।
