कोली/ कोलिय जाति एक समुदाय है जो मूल रूप से भारत के गुजरात, उत्तराखण्ड, राजस्थान, मध्य प्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र, हरियाणा, हिमाचल प्रदेश, उत्तर प्रदेश, कर्नाटक और जम्मू कश्मीर राज्यों का निवासी रहा है। कोली गुजरात की एक जमींदार जाती है इनका मुख्य कार्य खेतीबाड़ी है लेकिन जहां पर ये समुंद्री इलाकों में रहते हैं वहां पर खेतीबाड़ी काम करते हैं। बीसवीं शताब्दी की शुरुआत में अंग्रेजी हुकूमत ने इनको खूनी जाती घोषित कर दिया था। प्रथम विश्व युद्ध के दौरान अंग्रेजी हुकूमत ने कोली जाति को एक योद्धा जाती का दर्जा दिया क्योंकि कोली जाति ने प्रथम विश्व युद्ध में अपने वीरता का परिचय दिया।

The Koli is an Indian caste found in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Odisha and Jammu and Kashmir states in India. Koli is an agriculturist caste of Gujarat but in coastal areas they also work as fishermen along with agriculture. In the beginning of 20th century, the Koli caste was recognised as a denotified tribe under Criminal Tribes Act by the Indian Government because of their anti-social activities during World War I.
