Bread is a staple food prepared from a dough of flour and water, usually by baking. Throughout recorded history and around the world, it has been an important part of many cultures' diet. It is one of the oldest human-made foods, having been of significance since the dawn of agriculture, and plays an essential role in both religious rituals and secular culture.

রুটি একটি সংরক্ষণযোগ্য খাবার যা আঁটা বা ময়দা এবং পানি দিয়ে তৈরি করা হয়। লবণ, চর্বি, ঈস্ট এবং রান্নার সোডা রুটির সাধারণ উপকরণ হলেও আরও অনেক উপকরণ রুটির সাথে যুক্ত হতে পারে যেমন, দুধ, ডিম, চিনি, মসলা,ফ ল, পেঁয়াজ, বাদাম ইত্যাদি। রুটি অন্যতম একটি প্রাচীন খাবার যা নিওলেথিক যুগেও ব্যবহৃত হত।
