Kabul is the capital city of Afghanistan. Located in the eastern half of the country, it is also a municipality, forming part of the Kabul Province; it is administratively divided into 22 municipal districts. According to 2023 estimates, the population of Kabul was 4.95 million people. In contemporary times, the city has served as Afghanistan's political, cultural, and economical center, and rapid urbanisation has made Kabul the 75th-largest city in the world and the country's primate city.

কাবুল পূর্ব-মধ্য আফগানিস্তানের একটি শহর এবং কাবুল প্রদেশ ও আফগানিস্তানের রাজধানী। শহরটি কাবুল নদীর তীরে সমুদ্রতল থেকে ১৮০০ মিটার উচ্চতায় অবস্থিত। কাবুল আফগানিস্তানের প্রধান অর্থনৈতিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্র। আফগানিস্তান ও পাকিস্তানের মধ্যবর্তী পর্বতাঞ্চলের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ গিরিপথ খাইবার গিরিপথের কাছে অবস্থিত বলে কাবুল শহর সামরিক কৌশলগত দিক থেকেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। শহরে বস্ত্র, খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ, রাসায়নিক ও কাষ্ঠজাত দ্রব্য উৎপাদন করা হয়। কাবুলে বসবাসরত জাতিগুলির মধ্যে তাজিক জাতির লোকেরা সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ। তবে পশতুন জাতির লোকেরা সংখ্যালঘু জাতি হলেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
