ਟਾਪੂ (tapu) - Meaning in English

ਟਾਪੂ ਜਾਂ ਦੀਪ ਜਾਂ ਜਜ਼ੀਰਾ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ਼ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਟੁਕੜਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੇ ਟਾਪੂਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਬਾਹਰ ਉੱਭਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਗਾ ਟਾਪੂ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਟਾਪੂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਬਣ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
