ചെമ്മരിയാട് (cem'mariyat) - Meaning in English

കാർഷികമായി വളർത്തുന്ന ഒരു നാൽക്കാലി മൃഗമാണ് ചെമ്മരിയാട്. ഇത് ഇരട്ടക്കുളമ്പുള്ള ഒരു മൃഗമാണ്. കാർഷികാവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി മെരുക്കിയെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ആദ്യ മൃഗങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ചെമ്മരിയാട്. ഇറച്ചിക്കും രോമത്തിനും വേണ്ടിയാണ് മനുഷ്യർ ഇതിനെ വളർത്തുന്നത്. ലോകത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന മൃഗരോമം ചെമ്മരിയാടിന്റെ രോമമാണ് (കമ്പിളി). തുകലിനായും പാലിനായും ശാസ്ത്രീയ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾക്കായും ഇവയെ വളർത്താറുണ്ട്.
