બકરી એ ભારતમાં ઠેર ઠેર જોવા મળતું એક પાલતું પ્રાણી છે. બકરીઓની સંખ્યાની દ્રષ્ટિએ ભારતનું સ્થાન વિશ્વમાં બીજા નંબરનું છે. આ પ્રાણીની માદાને બકરી કહે છે જ્યારે નરને બકરો કહે છે. બકરીનો ઉછેર તેના દૂધ, માંસ અને મોહેર માટે થાય છે. મળી આવેલા અવશેષો અનુસાર બકરીનું પાલન ભારતમાં સિંધુ ખીણની સંસ્કૃતિના સમયથી થતું આવ્યું છે.
