ਲੂਣ (luna) - Meaning in English

ਲੂਣ ਜਾਂ ਨਮਕ ਇੱਕ ਖਣਜੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਰਸਾਇਣਕ ਨਾਂ ਸੋਡੀਅਮ ਕਲੋਰਾਈਡ (NaCl) ਹੈ। ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਰੂਪ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੂਣ ਇੱਕ ਬਲੌਰੀ (ਰਵੇਦਾਰ) ਖਣਿਜ ਵਜੋਂ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹਨੂੰ ਖਣਜੀ ਲੂਣ ਜਾਂ ਹੇਲਾਈਟ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੂਣ ਵਿਚ ਲੋੜ ਖਣਜੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਆਇਓਡੀਨ ਆਦਿ ਵੀ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
