परिकलन एक अत्यावश्यक गणितीय प्रक्रिया है जो एक या अधिक निवेश को एक या अधिक निर्गम या परिणामों में बदल देती है। इस शब्द का प्रयोग विभिन्न प्रकार के अर्थों में किया जाता है, जिसमें किसी निश्चित विधि का उपयोग करते हुये अंकगणितीय गणना से, किसी प्रतियोगिता में एक रणनीति की गणना करने के लिये प्रयुक्त अस्पष्ट अनुमान तक, या दो लोगों के बीच एक सफल रिश्ते की संभावना की गणना करना शामिल हैं।

A calculation is a deliberate mathematical process that transforms one or more inputs into one or more outputs or results. The term is used in a variety of senses, from the very definite arithmetical calculation of using an algorithm, to the vague heuristics of calculating a strategy in a competition, or calculating the chance of a successful relationship between two people.
