A cantilever is a rigid structural element that extends horizontally and is unsupported at one end. Typically it extends from a flat vertical surface such as a wall, to which it must be firmly attached. Like other structural elements, a cantilever can be formed as a beam, plate, truss, or slab.

उस धरन (बीम), प्लेट या ट्रस-संरचना को टोड़ा या बाहुधरन या कैंटीलीवर (Cantilever) कहते हैं जिसका एक सिरा पूर्णतया आबद्ध हो और शेष बाहर निकला हुआ आलंबरहित भाग का भार सँभाले हो। ईंट या पत्थर की चिनाई में जो ईंटें या पत्थर दीवार के आर पार, या सामने से बहुत दूर अंदर तक जाते हैं और जिनकी चौड़ाई की ओर वाली सतह सामने दिखाई देती है, वे भी टोड़ा कहलाते हैं। किंतु बाहुधरन के अर्थ में टोड़ा शब्द का प्रयोग व्यापक है।
