विश्वास NOUN

वह धारणा जो मन में किसी व्यक्ति के प्रति उसका सद्भाव, हितैषिता, सत्यता, दृढ़ता आदि अथवा किसी सिद्धांत आदि की सत्यता अथवा उत्तमता का ज्ञान होने के कारण होती है । किसी के गुणों आदि का निश्चय होने पर उसके प्रति उत्पन्न होनेवाला मन का भाव । एतबार । यकीन । जैसे,—(क) मैं तो सदा ईश्वर पर विश्वास रखता हूँ । (ख) उन्हें आपका पूरा पूरा विश्वास है । (ग) आप विश्वास रखें, ऐसा कभी न होगा ।
मन की धारणा जो विषय या सिद्धांत आदि की सत्यता का पूरा पूरा प्रमाण न मिलने पर भी उसकी सत्यता के संबंध में होती है । जैसे— (क) बहुत से अशिक्षित भूत प्रेत पर विश्वास रखते हैं । (ख) और धर्मों की अपेक्षा बौद्ध धर्म पर उनका कुछ अधिक विश्वास है ।
केवल अनुमान के आधार पर होनेवाला मन का दृढ़ निश्चय । जैसे,—मेरा तो यही विश्वास है कि वह अवश्य आवेगा ।

एक विश्वास एक व्यक्तिपरक मनोदृष्टि या रवैया है कि एक प्रतिज्ञप्ति सत्य है या मामलों की परिस्थिति ही मामला है। एक व्यक्तिपरक रवैया किसी चीज के बारे में कुछ रुख, अभिमत या राय रखने की मानसिक स्थिति है। विश्वास दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना हुआ है: विश्व +आस, = संसार से आस। संसार में हर कोई चाहता है की हर इंसान उस पर विश्वास करे लेकिन वह दूसरों पर जल्दी विश्वास नहीं कर पता। ज्ञानमीमांसा में, दार्शनिक दुनिया के बारे में दृष्टिकोण को संदर्भित करने के लिए "विश्वास" शब्द का उपयोग करते हैं जो सच या गलत हो सकता है।
