1. किसी पुस्तक या लेख का वह भाग जिसमें वे बातें दी गई हो जो किसी कारण यथास्थान नहीं जा सकी हों और जिनके पुस्तक में न आने से वह अपूर्ण रह जाती हो । पूस्तक या लेख का वह अंश जिसमें ऐसी बातें लिखी गई हों जो यथास्थान देने से छूट गई हों और जिनके देने से पूस्तक के विषय की पूर्ति होती हो । जैसे, छांदोग्य- परिशिष्ट, गृह्मपरिशिष्ट आदि ।
2. किसी पुस्तक के अंत में जोड़ा हुआ वह लेख जिसमें ऐसे अंक, व्याख्याएँ, कथाएँ, हवाले अथवा अन्य कोई बात दी गई हो जिससे पूस्तक का विषय समझने में सहायता मिलती हो किसी पुस्तक का वह अतिरिक्त अंश जिसमें कुछ ऐसी बातें दी गई हों जिनसे उसकी उपयोगिता या महत्व बढ़ता हो । जमीमा ।
