- वृक्ष की बहुत पतली शाखा । पेड़ की डाल के छोर पर की कोगल, पतली और लचीली उपशाखा जिसमें पत्तियाँ लगती हैं । जैसे, नीम की टहनी ।
Description
शाखा पेड़ का लकड़ी वाला वह भाग होता है जो कि तने से जुड़ा होता है लेकिन तने का भाग नहीं होता है। पेड़ के तने से कई शाखाएँ जुड़ी होती हैं। प्रत्येक शाखा की कई उप-शाखाएँ भी होती हैं और कई शाखाएँ तथा उप-शाखाएँ मिलकर एक जालनुमा छत बुनती हैं जिसकी वजह से पेड़ को उसकी छतरी मिलती है। इस अर्थ में शाखा को टहनी भी कहते हैं।
