- एक पाश्चात्य दार्शनिक सिद्धात । विशेष—इसके अनुसार ईश्वर ही वास्तव में कर्ता और ज्ञाता है और जीव काल्पनीक कर्ता और ज्ञाता मात्र है । इस सिद्धांत के अनुसार जब जब शरीर पर असर होने से आत्मा को संवेदन या सुख दःख होते है, ओर जब जब आत्मा की कृति- शक्ति से शरीर हीलता है , तब तब आत्मा और शरीर के बीच में पड़कर ईश्वर कार्य करता है । संवेदन का शरीर और शारीरिक गति का आत्मा केवल समय समय पर सहकारी कारण है, वस्तुत? इस संवेदन और दोनों ही का कारण ईश्वर है । यह सिद्धात मेलब्रांश और ज्यूलोक का है जिससे मेलब्रांश ईश्वर को ज्ञाता और ज्यूलोक कर्ता मात्र मानता है ।

अवसरवाद या मौक़ापरस्ती असूलों के खिलाफ जाकर या दूसरों की परवाह किये बिना परिस्थितियों का लाभ उठाकर स्वार्थी निर्णय लेना होता है।
