Incense is an aromatic biotic material that releases fragrant smoke when burnt. The term is used for either the material or the aroma. Incense is used for aesthetic reasons, religious worship, aromatherapy, meditation, and ceremony. It may also be used as a simple deodorant or insect repellent.

अगरबत्ती एक बत्ती है जिसे जलाने पर सुगंधित धुँआ निकलता है। Incense sticks अगरबत्ती का उपयोग लगभग प्रत्येक भारतीय घर, दुकान तथा पूजा-अर्चना के स्थान पर अनिवार्य रूप से किया जाता है। सुबह की दिनचर्या प्रारंभ करने से पहले प्रत्येक घर में अगरबत्ती जलाई जाती है, जो स्वतः ही इस उत्पाद की व्यापक खपत को दर्शाता है। अगरबत्तियां विभिन्न सुगंधों जैसे चंदन, केवड़ा, गुलाब आदि में बनाई जाती हैं। अधिकांशतः उपभोक्ताओं को इनकी किसी विशेष सुगंध के प्रति आकर्षण बन जाता है तथा वे प्रायः उसी सुगंध वाली अगरबत्ती को ही खरीदते हैं।
