ईरान या ईरान इस्लामिक गणराज्य पश्चिमी एशिया में स्थित एक देश है। इसे सन 1935 तक फ़ारस (पर्शिया) नाम से भी जाना जाता है। इसकी राजधानी तेहरान है और यह देश पश्चिम में इराक़ और तुर्की, उत्तर-पश्चिम में अज़रबैजान और आर्मीनिया, उत्तर में कैस्पियन सागर, उत्तर-पूर्व में तुर्कमेनिस्तान, पूर्व में अफ़ग़ानिस्तान और पाकिस्तान और दक्षिण में फ़ारस की खाड़ी और ओमान की खाड़ी से घिरा है। यहाँ का प्रमुख धर्म इस्लाम है तथा यह क्षेत्र शिया बहुल है।

Iran, officially the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), also known by its Western-given name Persia, is a country in West Asia. The nation's capital and most populous city is Tehran, with around 16.8 million people in its metropolitan area. Other major cities include Mashhad, Isfahan, Karaj, and Shiraz.
