Description
A globe is a spherical model of Earth, of some other celestial body, or of the celestial sphere. Globes serve purposes similar to maps, but, unlike maps, they do not distort the surface that they portray except to scale it down. A model globe of Earth is called a terrestrial globe. A model globe of the celestial sphere is called a celestial globe.
एक ग्लोब पृथ्वी का एक गोलाकार मॉडल है, किसी अन्य खगोलीय पिंड का, या आकाशीय क्षेत्र का। ग्लोब नक्शों के समान उद्देश्यों की पूर्ति करते हैं, लेकिन नक्शों के विपरीत, वे उस सतह को विकृत नहीं करते हैं जिसे वे चित्रित करते हैं, सिवाय इसके कि इसे छोटा किया जाए। पृथ्वी के एक मॉडल ग्लोब को स्थलीय ग्लोब कहा जाता है। आकाशीय गोले के मॉडल ग्लोब को आकाशीय ग्लोब कहा जाता है।
