সত্য হচ্ছে ধর্মশাস্ত্র ও দর্শনশাস্ত্রের একটি মৌলিক শক্তি যা দ্বারা বিশাল এ জগৎ সৃষ্ট হয়েছে এমন বিশ্বাস বা ধারণা যা প্রকৃত বিষয় বা ঘটনার সাথে যোগাযোগের সেতুবন্ধন গড়ে তুলে। পবিত্র ধর্মশাস্ত্রাদি একসুরে বলছে মহামহিম ঈশ্বরই একমাত্র সত্য । বিশাল বিস্তৃত এ সৃষ্টি সসীম ও অসত্য, শুধু তার গহীন ইচ্ছাসমুদ্রের কোনো বন্দরে হয়তো বিদ্যমান।
