Income is the consumption and saving opportunity gained by an entity within a specified timeframe, which is generally expressed in monetary terms. Income is difficult to define conceptually and the definition may be different across fields. For example, a person's income in an economic sense may be different from their income as defined by law.

আয় বা উপার্জন বলতে কোন নির্দিষ্ট সময়সীমার মধ্যে কোন সত্তার ভোগ ও সঞ্চয় করার সুযোগ অর্জন করাকে বোঝায়, যেটিকে সাধারণ অর্থের নিরিখে প্রকাশ করা হয়। আয়কে ধারণাগতভাবে সংজ্ঞায়িত করা দুরূহ এবং এর সংজ্ঞা শাস্ত্র ও ক্ষেত্রভেদে ভিন্ন হয়ে থাকে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ অর্থনৈতিক দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে কোনও ব্যক্তির আয় এবং আইন দ্বারা সংজ্ঞায়িত ব্যক্তির আয় ভিন্ন হতে পারে।
