चींटी (cinti) - Meaning in English

चींटी या पिपीलिका एक है, जो फ़ोरमिसिडाए नामक जीववैज्ञानिक कुल में वर्गीकृत है। इस कुल की 12,000 से अधिक जातियों का वर्गीकरण किया जा चुका है और अनुमान है कि इसमें लगभग 10,000 और जातियाँ हैं। इनका विश्व के पर्यावरण में भारी प्रभाव है, जिसका पिपीलिकाशास्त्री गहरा अध्ययन करते हैं। रानी चींटी की उम्र लगभग 20 साल होती है जबकि अन्य चीटियां 45 से 50 दिन का ही जीवन जी पाती है

Ants are eusocial insects of the family Formicidae and, along with the related wasps and bees, belong to the order Hymenoptera. Ants evolved from vespoid wasp ancestors in the Cretaceous period. They are easily identified by their geniculate (elbowed) antennae and the distinctive node-like structure that forms their slender waists.
