An accident is an unintended, normally unwanted event that was not directly caused by humans. The term accident implies that nobody should be blamed, but the event may have been caused by unrecognized or unaddressed risks. For example, when a tree falls down during a wind storm, its fall may not have been caused by humans, but the tree's type, size, health, location, or improper maintenance may have contributed to the result. Most car wrecks are not true accidents; however, English speakers started using that word in the mid-20th century as a result of media manipulation by the US automobile industry.

१) अप्रशिक्षित चालक(untrained driver)- भारत में आये दिन हो रही सड़क दुर्घटनाओं का मुख्य कारण यह भी हैं की यहाँ वास्तव में ही बिना किसी परीक्षा पास किये ही ज्यादातर शहरों,कस्बों और गावों में लोगों को लाइसेंस दे दिया जाता, सच तो यहाँ तक हैं की कभी-कभी जो आर.टी.ओ.(R.T.O.) के दलाल हैं वोह लोगों को कह देते हैं की आपको वहाँ जाना भी नहीं पड़ेगा और हम सब कुछ करवा देंगे आपको लाइसेंस आपके घर पर दे जाएंगे ज्यादातर यह भारत में महिलाओं के साथ हो रहा हैं वैसे पुरुष भी इस मामले में बहुत ज्यादा पीछे नहीं हैं, लेकिन भारत सरकार के ट्रांसपोर्ट मंत्रालय ने लाइसेंस देने की प्रक्रिया को काफी मजबूती दी हुई हैं, विभाग के अनुसार जब तक आप स्वयं जा कर अपना पेपर नहीं देंगे और आपको ट्रायल भी देना पड़ेगा तब तक आपको ड्राविंग लाइसेंस नहीं दिया जाएगा, लेकिन यह सब केवल मंत्रालय के कागजों और कार्यालयों के अंदर ही होता हैं, वास्तव में आर.टी.ओ.(R.T.O.)के ऑफिस में जहाँ पर यह पूरी प्रक्रिया होती हैं वहां पर यह सब काम केवल आर.टी.ओ.(R.T.O.) के सिपाही ही करते हैं वही आपकी परीक्षा देते हैं, वही बाकी की प्रक्रिया करते हैं आप अगर गए हैं तो बुत बनके बैठे रहिये बस, तो यहाँ भी जिम्मेदारी सरकार की ही निकल के आती हैं..
