A facilitator is a person who helps a group of people to work together better, understand their common objectives, and plan how to achieve these objectives, during meetings or discussions. In doing so, the facilitator remains "neutral", meaning they do not take a particular position in the discussion. Some facilitator tools will try to assist the group in achieving a consensus on any disagreements that preexist or emerge in the meeting so that it has a solid basis for future action.

फैसीलिटेटर (facilitator) अथवा सूत्रधार अथवा सुविधा प्रदाता उस व्यक्ति को कहते हैं जो बैठकों या चर्चाओं के दौरान लोगों के समूह को एक साथ बेहतर ढंग से काम करने, उनके सामान्य उद्देश्यों को समझने और इन उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त करने की योजना बनाने में मदद करता है। ऐसा करते समय् फैसीलिटेटर "तटस्थ" रहता है, जिसका अर्थ है कि वो चर्चा में कोई विशेष पक्ष में भाग नहीं लेता है। कुछ फैसीलिटेटर उपकरण बैठक में पहले से मौजूद या उभरने वाली किसी भी असहमति पर आम सहमति प्राप्त करने में समूह की सहायता करने का प्रयास करते हैं ताकि भविष्य की कार्रवाई के लिए उसके पास एक ठोस आधार हो।
