Asia is the largest continent in the world by both land area and population. It covers an area of more than 44 million square kilometers, about 30% of Earth's total land area and 8% of Earth's total surface area. The continent, which has long been home to the majority of the human population, was the site of many of the first civilizations. Its 4.7 billion people constitute roughly 60% of the world's population, having more people than all other continents combined.

एशिया या जम्बुद्वीप आकार और जनसंख्या दोनों ही दृष्टि से विश्व या दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा महाद्वीप है, जो उत्तरी गोलार्द्ध में स्थित है। पश्चिम में इसकी सीमाएँ यूरोप से मिलती हैं, हालाँकि इन दोनों के बीच कोई सर्वमान्य और स्पष्ट सीमा नहीं निर्धारित की गई है। एशिया और यूरोप दोनों देशों को मिलाकर यूरेशिया बना है। यह भूमध्य सागर, अंध सागर, आर्कटिक महासागर, प्रशांत महासागर और हिन्द महासागर से घिरा हुआ है। जिसके कारण काकेशस पर्वत शृंखला और यूराल पर्वत शृंखला प्राकृतिक रूप दोनों पर्वत शृंखलाएँ एशिया को यूरोप से अलग करती है।
