Management is the administration of organizations, whether they are a business, a nonprofit organization, or a government body through business administration, nonprofit management, or the political science sub-field of public administration respectively. It is the process of managing the resources of businesses, governments, and other organizations.

முகாமைத்துவம் அல்லது மேலாண்மை என்பது ஊழியர்களைக் கொண்டு அமைப்பொன்றினது சகல வளங்களையும் பயனுறுதிமிக்க வண்ணம் முறைப்படுத்தி வழிநடத்திச்செல்ல எடுக்கப்படும் நடவடிக்கைகளை விபரிக்கும் இயலாகும். அமைப்பொன்றில் இந்தகைய நடவடிக்கையினை மேற்கொள்ளுபவர் முகாமையாளர் (அ) மேலாளர் (manager) எனப்படுவார். இங்கு வளங்கள் எனப்படுவது அமைப்பொன்றில் காணப்படும் மனிதவளம், நிதி வளம், பொருண்மை வளம், புலமைசார் வளம், கட்புலனாகா வளம் ஆகிய வகைகளைக்குறிக்கும்.
