सरोवर (sarovara) - Meaning in English

सरोवर म्हणजे पृथ्वीवरील गोड्या अथवा खाऱ्या पाण्याचा मोठ्या आकाराचा साठा. सरोवरे पूर्णपणे जमिनीने वेढलेली असतात व कोणत्याही समुद्राचा भाग नसतात. आकाराने सरोवरे तळ्यांपेक्षा बरीच मोठी असतात व त्यांमधील पाणी साधारणपणे संथ असते.

A lake is a naturally occurring, relatively large and fixed body of water on the Earth's surface. It is localized in a basin or interconnected basins surrounded by dry land. Lakes lie completely on land and are separate from the ocean, although they may be connected with the ocean by rivers, such as Lake Ontario. Most lakes are freshwater and account for almost all the world's surface freshwater, but some are salt lakes with salinities even higher than that of seawater.
